あ、人材派遣事業部の者です。

僕がこの(類稀な)小説に出会ったのは、去年か一昨年だった。
それを妻に言うと「最近じゃないの」と驚かれるのだけど、この本の感想は実際のところ僕にとってはそのくらい曖昧になってしまった。ブラックコーヒーの中にシナモンパウダーを混ぜたみたいに。
「それはつまり、あなたにとって何を意味してるの？ええと、メタファーという意味では」
「メタファーという意味では」
少し考えて、慎重に言葉を選ぶ。僕はこういうときに長い沈黙の作用を知っている。
「よくわからないな」
「ただ、読んだ前後で違うニンゲンになった？」
「そうかもしれない」

I met this (unusual) novel last year or two years ago. When I tell my wife about it, I’m surprised that it’s not recent, but the impression of this book has actually become so vague to me. It’s like mixing cinnamon powder in black coffee.

Think a little and choose your words carefully. I know the effect of long silence at such times.
“I don’t know”
“But did you get different humans before and after reading?”
“Might be so”
