タイムレス想像力『タイムリーパー』　2022年4月25日

あ、人材派遣事業部の者です。

SFは海外勢が強く、日本人がSFを読んでみようと思っても文体や文化の違いで読むのがキツくなることが多いです。
その中で大原まり子氏は日本文学の恋愛観をうまくSFへ落とし込んであり、とても読みやすく書かれています。

この話に出てくる時間工事課には江戸時代の造り酒屋のおじさんから、3002年の軍人、4000年代の、、、と非常に歴史スケールの大きな人たちがいて、無感情でありながら愛着を持って生命の歴史を俯瞰しています。
主人公は1988年恋人と交通事故に遭った瞬間2018年にタイムリープし、この時間工事課に追われることになります。

主人公(個)に感情移入しながらも、地球の過去から未来に続く生命の歴史(全)に揺さぶられる作品です。
この小説の刊行は1998年ですが、そのとき2018年ってものすごく未来的に見えたんでしょうね (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
そんなことも考えながら読んでみてくださいね。

Science fiction is strongly foreign, and even if Japanese people try to read science fiction, it is often hard for them to read due to differences in writing style and culture.
In this situation, Mariko Ohara has successfully incorporated the romantic view of Japanese literature into science fiction, making it very easy to read.

The Time Construction Division in this story has people on a very large historical scale, from a sake brewer’s uncle in the Edo period to a soldier in the year 3002, in the 4000s, and so on, and they overlook the history of life with emotionless yet affectionate feelings.
The main character time leaps to the year 2018 at the moment of a car accident with her lover in 1988, and is pursued by the Time Construction Division.

This is a work in which we are emotionally involved with the main character (individual), but are also swayed by the history of life (all) that continues from the past to the future of the earth.
This novel was published in 1998, but at that time, 2018 must have seemed very futuristic 🙂
Please read this book with that in mind.
